Sole trader compliance
Quarterly BAS, your individual return with the business schedule, and a monthly look through the file so June isn’t an archaeology dig.

We carry the compliance for about 180 Perth small businesses — the number agreed before we start, your call back the same business day.
Three questions, and no email address to see the answer.
Your fixed monthly fee
$290 a month, ex GST
That’s $3,480 a year, in twelve equal payments.
Top of this estimate$545 a month
That is the number we’d put in the engagement letter, and it is the fee for a clean set of books kept up to date. If you’re behind, the catch-up is quoted separately after a free file review — we don’t bury it in the monthly and hope you don’t notice.
What moves the fee. The structure, because a trust means a second set of accounts and its own distribution minutes. The turnover, because more transactions means more reconciling and a longer BAS. And the payroll, because every pay run is a lodgement of its own. Nothing else does — not how often you ring us.

Every figure below is a real starting fee, ex GST, for a business whose records are in order. Nothing here is a “package” with a metal name on it.
Quarterly BAS, your individual return with the business schedule, and a monthly look through the file so June isn’t an archaeology dig.
From $95 a monthEx GST · the cheapest thing we doBAS, the company return and financial statements, the director’s return, ASIC annual review reminders, and someone who knows your file before you explain it.
From $185 a monthEx GST · most of our clients sit hereTwo or three entities that have to agree with each other: consolidated workpapers, distribution minutes drafted before year end rather than chased in September, and one set of numbers, not three.
From $285 a monthEx GST · per group, not per entitySalary, rental property, shares, a bit of contracting. Done in an appointment, checked by a second person, lodged the same week.
From $180Ex GST · per returnOn its own, if that’s all you want from us. We reconcile the quarter, ask you about the three transactions that look wrong, and lodge.
From $110 a quarterEx GST · standalone, no monthly feeYears of unreconciled bank feeds, a shoebox, or both. We tell you what’s actually outstanding before we tell you a price.
Quoted after a free file reviewNo charge to find out how bad it isPayroll, single touch payroll and superannuation are inside the monthly fee once there are people on the books — you’ll see it in the estimate above as soon as you set the headcount. Audits, disputes and business sales are quoted on scope, because pretending otherwise would be a lie.
Why people move to us
You sign a number, not an hourly rate. If the work genuinely grows — you take on staff, you add a trust — we tell you the new number before we do it.
Four people, about 180 clients and a rule about the phone. Ring before 4pm on a business day and you hear back before we go home.
Notices, reminders, payment plans, the hold music. It comes to us, and you find out what it was about rather than that it happened.
It stays in your name, on your subscription. If you ever leave us, your history goes with you and we don’t make it difficult.
What you run, what’s outstanding, and the thing that’s actually keeping you up. No pitch.
We look at your ATO account and your books and write down what is really there — lodged, unlodged, owing.
One number a month, what it covers, and the date we start. You decide after you’ve read it, not on the phone.
What clients say
“We were three BAS behind and I’d stopped opening the mail. They had the lot lodged inside six weeks and set up a payment plan I can actually meet.”
“Same fee every month, and no surprise bill in October. I know what the year costs before it starts, which is more than I could say for the last two.”
“They took us over mid-year without making me move off Xero, and found equipment I’d never had written down properly.”
Where we work
Inside the boundary below we’ll sit at your kitchen table or your site office. Outside it, and anywhere else in WA, we work by video, phone and post — about a third of our clients have never been to the office.
Questions we actually get asked
It’s most of what we do. The first job is a free file review: we look at your ATO account and your books, work out exactly what is outstanding, and put a written price and an order of attack in front of you.
Nobody here is going to make you feel stupid about it. The mail stops being frightening once someone else is opening it.
Yes, and mid-quarter. We write to your current accountant for the file, there’s some paperwork to authorise us to act for you, and we walk you through it. You keep trading straight through — there’s no reason to wait for 1 July.
No. If you’re on Xero we work in your file. If you’re on something else, we’ll tell you honestly whether it’s costing you anything, and if it isn’t, we leave it alone.
Either way the subscription stays in your name. We’ve never understood practices that hold the file hostage.
Carry it. We prepare the work, we lodge it, we take the letters and the phone calls, we argue a position when it needs arguing, and we put our name to it.
Plenty of people do their own return — that’s their right. What you can’t do on your own is hand the follow-up to somebody else, and the follow-up is where the hours go.
A fixed fee per month, ex GST, agreed in writing before we start, paid by direct debit. There is no hourly rate anywhere in our engagement letter, which is why there is no bill for ringing us.
If the scope genuinely changes, we tell you the new number and you agree to it before the work happens. Never after.
We’ll model it on your own numbers and show you both sides in writing — including what the structure costs to run and administer each year — before you decide anything. That’s advisory work and it’s inside the monthly fee.

Six boxes. It tells us enough to have a useful conversation instead of a discovery interview — and if we’re not the right fit, we’ll say so on the call rather than after the invoice.
Or just ring the office
(08) 9000 0422Mon–Fri, 8:30am–5pm. If we’re with a client, leave a message and you’ll hear back the same day.
A partner will call you on the number you gave us before the end of the next business day, and we’ll book the 20-minute review from there. If it’s urgent — a director penalty notice, a garnishee, a deadline this week — ring (08) 9000 0422 and say so.
