Bakes & prices

Bread every morning. Cakes from $160.

Every price below is the whole price — no serving fee, no cake-stand surcharge, no surprise at pick-up.

Sourdough & daily loaves

$7–$12 a loaf

Baked before Perth wakes — the first trays are out at 6am. Country white, seeded rye, olive fold and the Saturday-only fruit loaf. We’ll hold one under your name till noon.

Celebration cakes

from $160

One to three tiers, four flavours, three finishes — built and priced on the card above. Serves counted in coffee-shop slices: 24, 50 or 90, and we mean it.

Cupcakes

$54 a dozen

Single flavour per dozen — that’s what keeps them $54 and keeps them perfect. Mix flavours across dozens, not within one. A day’s notice does it.

Fondant finishes

+$60 a tier

A day of smoothing, not a sticker — fondant is rolled, draped and worked by hand until the edge disappears. Worth it for the photographed cakes; the buttercream finishes are free.

Metro delivery & setup

+$60 flat

The cake travels boxed, boarded and dowelled in a van that’s never in a hurry, and we set it on the table ourselves. Collection from Bassendean is free.

Dessert tables & weddings

quoted after a tasting

The table is designed, not totalled — we plan it with you over a tasting box and quote the whole spread. Book the tasting and bring opinions.

From the counter

What people say at pick-up.

Demonstration reviews, written for this demo — the real site would carry the bakery’s own.

The unicorn cake survived forty minutes on a school-hall trestle table in February, two hundred kids, and my nephew’s elbow. The horn never wobbled. I don’t know what they dowel these with and I don’t need to.

Kelly M. · Eden Hill · two-tier birthday, fondant

We ordered the christening cake for ninety because that’s what the card said it served, and it fed ninety — and we boxed leftovers. Nobody got a sliver. My mother, who bakes, went quiet, which is the review.

Anthony P. · Bayswater · three-tier christening

Rang at seven to ask them to hold a Saturday loaf, walked in at noon expecting an apology. It was on the shelf with my name on a paper tag, no fuss, like that’s just what a bakery does. It is now, for me.

Questions we get at the counter

Straight answers, before you ring.

How far ahead should I order?

Two weeks for a celebration cake — that’s real lead time, not padding, because tiers are baked, chilled, stacked and finished across days. Cupcakes need a day. Dessert tables and wedding cakes start a month out, with a tasting in the middle. If you’re inside two weeks, ring anyway — sometimes the oven diary is kind.

Do you do gluten-free?

Honestly: low-gluten friendly, not coeliac-safe. We bake with wheat flour all day and the flour is in the air — no cake from this kitchen should be served to someone with coeliac disease, and we’d rather lose the order than pretend otherwise. For gluten-sensitive guests our flourless chocolate torte is popular; ask when you ring.

Why does fondant cost more?

Because it’s a day of smoothing, not a sticker. Fondant is rolled, draped, trimmed and polished by hand over a crumb-coated tier until the edge disappears — each tier adds real bench hours, which is why it’s $60 a tier rather than a flat fee. Buttercream and semi-naked are finished in the same care but a fraction of the time, so they’re free.

How do you count serves?

In coffee-shop slices — the kind you’d actually want handed to you — not caterer’s slivers. One tier serves 24, two tiers serve 50, three serve 90, and those numbers are on the price card because we stand behind them. If the card says it feeds ninety, it feeds ninety and boxes leftovers.

Can you copy a cake from a photo?

We’ll match the idea, not the watermark. Bring the photo — we’ll take the shape, the palette and the feeling, and build it in our hand rather than tracing someone else’s. You get a cake that looks like the one you loved and isn’t a knock-off of another baker’s work. Everyone’s prouder of it, including you.

How does delivery work — and what if I collect?

Delivery is $60 flat anywhere in metro Perth: the cake travels boxed and boarded, tiers dowelled, in the van with the air-con on, and we set it on the table and place the topper ourselves. Collection from the Bassendean shopfront is free — we’ll show you how to carry it (flat boot, never a seat) and box it to survive the trip.

Order

Tell us the date. We’ll do the rest.

Your cake from the card above comes across with the enquiry. We’d call you back within one baking day — mornings we’re elbow-deep in dough, so afternoons, mostly.

Two weeks’ notice for cakes, a day for cupcakes — and if you’re inside that, ring us on (08) 9000 0321 and we’ll check the oven diary.
