CrosscombBarbers · Vic Park

Crosscomb Barbers · Victoria ParkCuts, fades & beard work, done particular.

Two chairs on the Albany Highway strip. The same good cut every third Saturday, first cuts for kids, tight work for groomsmen — and the ticket maths printed before you sit down.

  • Cutting since 2018
  • Two chairs, no queue-jumping
  • Fresh towel every chair

Bookings always win the chair; walk-ins ride the gaps and the board in the window says how long. If it says 40 minutes, the coffee next door is our waiting room.

How the shop runs

The board is the truth

Bookings always win the chair; walk-ins ride the gaps. The board in the window says how long the wait really is — no "won't be a sec" while three heads queue ahead of you.

The boring stuff is the professional stuff

Fresh towel every chair, blades barbicided between cuts, clipper guards washed on the hour. You shouldn't have to ask, so you don't.

Your guards, remembered

Ask for your barber by name when you book — regulars are the business. Your last settings live on your card, so "same as last time" actually means the same as last time.

Pay how you like

Tap, cash, or the tin for the apprentice's coffee run. The ticket price is the till price — no weekend loading, no product upsell at the register.

Services & prices

Cuts from $25. The ticket is the maths.

Every price below is the whole price — gowning, wash-down at the neckline, product if you want it. Durations are honest, and the day board holds them.

Buzz cuts

$25 15 min

One guard, all over, edged clean. The fastest honest cut in the shop — in the chair and out before your parking ticks over.

Classic cuts

$38 30 min

Scissor-over-comb through the top, a clean number-2 taper at the sides. The cut that looks right at work Monday and at the ground Saturday.

Skin fades

$48 45 min

Skin at the bottom, blended up through 0.5, 1, 2 and 3 into scissor length. The chart on this page is the real recipe.

Beard sculpts

$22 15 min

Lined, graded and oiled — two guard marks and a straight edge at the cheek line. Bundles with any cut and saves $6.

Kids' cuts (u12)

$28 20 min

Soft 3-guard taper, patience included. First proper cuts get the booster seat, the mirror moment and a lollipop at the till.

Seniors' cuts

$30 30 min

The classic, sides tightened, no rush. If you've had the same barber since Whitlam, we know the brief — neat, proper, every third week.

Any cut + beard saves $6 One chair, one gowning, one clean-up — the saving is real overhead, not marketing. Cut + beard $54 · fade + beard $64 · buzz + beard $41 · seniors + beard $46.

Our apprentice cuts supervised at $20 on Tuesdays — you'll be told it's the apprentice before you sit down, never after.

From the chairs

Regulars are the business.

Walked in after six weeks away and he remembered the guard settings without asking. Zero on the neckline, two on the sides, scissor through the top. That's the whole reason I keep coming back.
Damon · East Victoria Park
My four-year-old's first proper cut ended in a high-five instead of tears. Booster seat, cartoons on the phone, lollipop at the till. We've booked every fourth Saturday since.
Priya · Carlisle
Whole wedding party faded by 10am — five heads, two chairs, ran like a timetable. The photographer asked where we got done. That's the review, really.

The shop

On the Albany Highway strip, Victoria Park.

Morning sun through the window lettering, the pole turning slow, coffee two doors down. We don't travel — the chairs are the shop — but the regulars walk and ride in from both sides of the highway and across the river.

Straight answers

Things blokes actually ask.

Do I need to book?

No — but bookings always win the chair. Walk-ins ride the gaps, and the board in the window (and on this page) says how long honestly. Saturday mornings, book. Tuesday 2pm, walk in.

How much is a cut?

Buzz $25, kids (u12) $28, seniors $30, classic $38, skin fade $48. Beard sculpt is $22 on its own and saves $6 with any cut — so fade + beard is $64, not $70. That's the whole price; the ticket on this page does the maths in front of you.

How long will it take?

Buzz 15 minutes, kids 20, classic and seniors 30, skin fade 45; beard work adds 15. The day board holds those durations honestly — a 60-minute service won't be squeezed into a 15-minute gap, which is why some slots grey out when you build a bigger service.

Do you do kids?

Under-12s are $28, soft 3-guard taper, patience included — booster seat and a lollipop at the till. First proper cuts get the extra five minutes free; we'd rather a good memory than a fast one. (And no, under-12s can't add the beard sculpt. Lollipop instead.)

What's a skin fade, actually?

Skin at the bottom, blended up through the guards — 0.5, 1, 2, 3 — into scissor length on top. The chart on this page is the real recipe: each band is a clipper pass, the cross-hatch is the blend zone where the work lives. That blend is why a fade takes 45 minutes and a buzz takes 15.

Can I get the same barber every time?

Ask for them by name when you book — regulars are the business. Your guard settings live on your card, so "same as last time" means exactly that, even six weeks later.
