PVC, painted, hinged and square. Shutters are joinery — they’re priced by the square metre and they’re worth it.

Every blind in the room, down at one press. Hardwired wants the electrician — we’ll coordinate, and their invoice is theirs, quoted before anyone drills.

Balcatta workshop, metro-wide installs
Measure runs leave Balcatta daily. Balcatta · Stirling · Karrinyup · Scarborough · Osborne Park · Wanneroo · Joondalup · Morley · Dianella · Perth CBD — and the rest of the metro by arrangement.
Because the workshop is local, a remake or a warranty call is a drive across the suburb, not a container on the water. That’s the whole point of making them here.

How much are made-to-measure blinds?
Blockout and light-filter rollers are from $190 a window up to 1500 mm wide, and from $260 for wide windows to 2400 mm. Double rollers are from $330 ($400 wide) and plantation shutters from $340 per square metre with a $620 window minimum. Installed jobs start at $380 — the van, the measure and the fit cost the same for one blind as for three. Six windows or more takes 10% off the blinds line.
Blockout or light-filter?
Both, usually. Bedrooms want blockout, living rooms want light-filter, and the window that has to do both jobs wants the double roller — two fabrics on one bracket, from $330. The studio above shows what each honestly does at noon and at night.
Why is there light at the edges of a blockout blind?
Because blockout describes the fabric, not the window. The fabric passes no light — the gold sliver at each edge is physics: a blind needs a millimetre of clearance to run. We named the company after it.
A face fit oversized past the architrave shrinks the gap to almost nothing; a reveal fit keeps the joinery look with a few honest millimetres. We’ll show you both at the measure and you choose.
How long from measure to install?
Two to three weeks, and most of it happens in our own workshop. Blinds are cut and assembled in Balcatta — so a remake takes days, not a shipping container, and install day is one visit with everything on the van.
Do you do rentals?
With the owner’s nod, yes — and we do the install ourselves, so the holes are right the first time and the bond stays whole. We’ll put the fixing method in the quote so the owner can say yes to something specific.
Are the cords safe with kids around?
Every install is cordless or chain-tensioned to the current Australian safety standard — cords and toddlers are not a matter of opinion. Motorisation removes the question entirely, at $290 a blind.
