Rooms & programs

Three rooms, one garden, honest fees on the door.

Every fee below is the full daily fee before your Child Care Subsidy — most families pay much less. Use the estimator to see your likely gap.

Nursery Birth – 2 years

1 educator : 4 babies — the national ratio

Sleep rhythms follow your baby, not our roster. Primary-carer model, daily feed and sleep notes, and a verandah cot room that catches the morning light, never the afternoon heat.

$148/ day, before CCS · all-inclusive

Toddlers 2 – 3 years

1 educator : 5 toddlers

The mud-kitchen apprenticeship: pouring, stirring, carrying, negotiating. Language explodes here, so our educators narrate everything — and the smocks live on hooks the children can reach.

$142/ day, before CCS · all-inclusive

Kindy 3 – 5 years

1 educator : 10 children

A school-readiness program led by a degree-qualified early childhood teacher — early literacy and numeracy through the garden, the kitchen and the workbench, not laminated flashcards.

$138/ day, before CCS · all-inclusive

All-inclusive fees What the daily fee covers

Breakfast until 8am, morning tea, a cooked lunch, afternoon tea — from our kitchen, menu on the door. Plus nappies, wipes, SPF 50+ sunscreen and a spare sun-hat. You bring a water bottle and the news from home.

$0in extras — no levies, no “activity fees”

Incursions program The world comes to the yard

The reptile handler in spring, the dental van, the Noongar seasons walk with a local elder, the fire truck that always runs late. Included in the fee — we’ll never invoice you for a wildlife show.

Included— always, for every room

Waitlist honesty Especially for nursery

Nursery places usually carry a 3–6 month wait; toddler and kindy places move faster. Join the list early — it’s free, there’s no deposit, and we’ll tell you your realistic timing, not a sales answer.

Families

Three families, three honest mornings.

We toured four centres before our daughter was born. Marri Lane was the one where the educator sat down on the floor before she said hello to us. Eight months in, drop-off is the easiest part of my working day.

PriyaNursery family · Ashfield

We moved from a franchise centre mid-year and the difference is the mornings. Nobody rushes my son through breakfast, and when I ask what he did, the educators tell me something that actually happened — with mud in it, usually.

CallumToddler room · Bayswater

Our kindy kid now tells us when the marri is about to blossom, and what the Noongar season is called. She started school this year reading the garden before she could read a book. That’s the program working.

Bassendean, on the river side of the line.

We’re a five-minute walk from Bassendean station, which is why half our families never touch the car park. Most of our children come from the inner east — riverside suburbs where the marri still outnumbers the crane.

Questions parents actually ask

The tour answers, in writing.

What does a day actually cost after the Child Care Subsidy?

Honestly: it depends on your subsidy. Full fees are $148 (nursery), $142 (toddlers) and $138 (kindy) a day, and Services Australia sets your CCS percentage from your family income and activity. Use the estimator above for an indicative gap, then at your tour we’ll sit down and walk through your actual rate — most families are surprised it’s lower than they guessed.

What’s included in the daily fee?

Everything a day needs: breakfast until 8am, morning tea, a cooked lunch and afternoon tea from our kitchen; nappies and wipes; SPF 50+ sunscreen; a spare sun-hat; and every incursion. There are no levies, holding fees or “extras” invoices. You bring a water bottle, a change of clothes, and anything comfort-shaped.

How does settling-in work?

Before the first booked day we run orientation visits — you and your child come for an hour or two, as many times as it takes. Some children need one visit; some need four. There’s no charge for orientation and we’d rather go slow now than have hard drop-offs for a month.

How long is the waitlist?

Nursery places usually take 3–6 months, because babies stay two years. Toddler and kindy places often come up within a term. If you’re expecting, join the list now — it’s free, and we’ll give you a realistic timeframe when you tour, not a hopeful one.

Do you take part-week enrolments?

Yes — most of our families book 2, 3 or 4 days, and from 2026 the CCS “3 Day Guarantee” means most families get at least three subsidised days a week regardless of activity hours. We ask for consistent days so your child gets the same educators and the same friends each week.

What makes you different from a franchise centre?

One centre, one owner on site, and room leads who’ve been here for years — our nursery lead has seen sixty babies through to kindy. The menu is cooked in our kitchen, the program is written for this garden in this suburb, and when you call, the person who answers knows your child’s name. We’re not against franchises; we’re just not one.

See a morning for yourself.

Tours run most weekdays at 9:30am — the rooms at their best, the garden in use, the kitchen mid-bake. Bring your child; they’re the real inspector.

  • 30–40 minutes, no obligation, no sales script
  • Meet the room lead your child would have
  • We’ll walk through your actual CCS rate together
