      Services

Seven things we measure, make and hang

Curtains are priced per metre of window width at the drop you choose, with a $260 minimum per window so a small window is cut, made and hung as carefully as a big one. Every price includes the measure, the fitting and a standard track.

      Made-to-measure curtains

Measured on the day, cut and made in our Osborne Park workroom, hung on a standard track. Any window, any drop.

      Linen-look curtains

Opaque with a soft slub — the living-room curtain that looks like linen and washes like polyester.

      from $160/m · $190/m to the floor · $210/m ceiling to floor

      Lined blockout curtains

A heavier fold with a lining, for the west bedroom, the nursery and the shift worker. Dark at noon.

      from $190/m · $230/m to the floor · $255/m ceiling to floor

      Reviews

      Three windows, in their words

West-facing bedroom, summer, blinds that leaked light around every edge. Lined blockout to the floor on a ceiling-fix track and the room is dark at three in the afternoon. First proper sleep-in in that house.

Priya, Carine — lined blockout, ceiling to floor, one window

New build, seven bare windows, handover on the Friday. Measured on the Monday, back three weeks later, whole house hung in a day including the sheers under the linen in the living room. Nothing to touch up.

Tom & Elise, Alkimos — whole-house job, linen over sheer

We only wanted sheers. She suggested taking them to the ceiling instead of the window head and the living room looks twice the size — the wall just goes up. Nobody believes it's the same room.

Margaret, Applecross — S-fold sheers, ceiling to floor

      Before you book

Questions we're asked in the showroom

How long from measure to fitting?

Honestly, three to four weeks. We measure, you confirm the fabric, the workroom cuts and sews, and we come back to hang. Imported fabrics can add two to three weeks depending on the mill — we'll tell you before you commit to one.

      Sheer or blockout?

Blockout for bedrooms, sheer for living rooms, and both on a double track where you want privacy by day and dark at night — that's what the sheer-layer switch on the Window Dresser prices. Ceiling to floor makes any room look taller; to the sill suits a kitchen or a bathroom.

      Do you supply the track?

Yes — a standard ceiling-fix or face-fix track is included in every price. Decorative rods with rings and finials are +$40 a metre, and motorised tracks are $450 a window with the remote in the box.

Can I keep my existing track?

Often, yes. We'll check it on the measure — if the gliders run and the brackets are sound, we'll hang the new curtains on it and the price is unchanged. If it needs replacing we'll say so on the day, not on the invoice.

Do you do just the measure?

No — the measure is part of the job and it's included in the price, so we don't sell it on its own. What we do give away is samples: three at a time, posted anywhere in the metro, free.

What about pelmets, Romans and re-hanging?

All three are quoted on the measure — a pelmet depends on the return and the finish, a Roman on the fabric and the width, and re-hanging on the state of what's there. We'll price them on the day alongside the curtains.

Tell us the windows and the suburb. We'll ring to book the measure.

      • The measure is included — one of our own fitters, not a subcontractor, with the sample books in the van.
      • New build? Book us before handover and we'll measure the week you get the keys.
      • Three to four weeks from measure to fitting; imported fabrics longer.

We'd call you back within one business day, from an Osborne Park number, to book the measure and post any samples. Prefer text? Say so and we'll never ring.
