What we clear

Services & honest floors

Sea · Fremantle

FCL container clearance

from $1,020 brokerage + metro cartage

A full 20 ft or 40 ft box cleared and side-loaded to your yard. $340 brokerage per entry plus $680 metro cartage — our fees, before duty, GST and government charges.

Sea · groupage

LCL groupage clearance

from $575 brokerage + minimum cartage

Shared-container cargo unpacked at the depot and delivered. $290 brokerage plus cartage at $95/m³ — minimum 3 m³ billed, so the floor is $285 cartage.

Air · Perth Airport

Air freight clearance

from $440 brokerage & delivery — our fees

$260 brokerage per entry plus $180 terminal fees and metro delivery. That $440 is our fee floor, never the ledger total — duty, GST and government charges sit on top.

Importers we'd make look easy

"Our first container out of Ningbo and I didn't understand a single form. Fairlead walked me through the packing declaration, told me the landed cost before the vessel berthed, and the box was in our Bibra Lake unit two days after discharge."

Sarah M. — homewares retailer, Bibra Lake

"We'd been paying 5% duty on the same machine parts for three years. Their tariff review found a concession order that took it to zero — the classification fee paid for itself on the first entry."

Dave R. — machinery importer, Welshpool

"Docs to them at 1pm on a Friday, entry cleared before close of business. Saved us a weekend of storage charges and a Monday of apologising to customers."

Port to metro

Two gateways, one delivery run

Sea cargo discharges at Fremantle Port; air freight lands at Perth Airport. Either way, we clear the entry, pay the terminal, and put your freight on a truck to anywhere in metro Perth — usually the same day it's released.

Our office is in O'Connor, ten minutes from the wharf gate. If a container gets held for inspection, we're close enough to stand next to it.

  • FCL side-loader — $680 metro, no crane hire, box grounded at your yard
  • LCL depot pickup — $95/m³, minimum 3 m³ billed, delivered on a tailgate truck
  • Air terminal & delivery — $180 flat, cleared and driven the day it lands

Straight answers

What importers ask us

What documents do you need from me?

Three things start every entry: the commercial invoice, the packing list, and the bill of lading (or air waybill). If there's timber packaging we'll also want the packing declaration, and for FTA duty rates a certificate of origin. Email them over — we'll tell you within the hour if anything's missing.

How long does clearance take?

A clean entry with full documents is usually lodged the same day we receive them, and sea cargo is typically cleared before the vessel finishes discharge when docs come early. Air freight moves faster — often cleared and delivered the day it lands. Inspections and missing documents are what add days, which is why we chase both before the freight arrives.

What duty will I pay?

Honestly: classification decides it, not us. Most general cargo lands between 0% and 5%, and free-trade agreements take a lot of it to zero with the right origin paperwork. GST of 10% applies to almost everything, calculated on goods + duty + freight. We confirm the exact rate when we classify your invoice — that's the $160 tariff-advice line, credited when we clear the entry.

Do I need a customs broker by law?

No. You're legally allowed to lodge your own import declaration with the Australian Border Force. A broker earns their fee on classification (getting the duty rate right, and finding the concessions that make it lower), on quarantine coordination, and on not having your container sit on the wharf accruing storage while you learn the forms. For a one-off low-value parcel, self-clearing can be fine — we'll tell you if that's your situation.

What does quarantine look for?

DAFF's concern is biosecurity risk: timber packaging and pallets (they must be treated and stamped), soil on machinery, food and plant material, and anything giving insects a ride. Most holds we see are untreated pallets and missing packing declarations — both preventable before the ship sails, which is exactly when we ask about them.
