Checkup, scale & clean
Exam, ultrasonic clean and polish, plus bitewing x-rays if due. Gap-free for most health funds, and honestly itemised for everyone else.

Kids' dentistry
Eligible kids are bulk-billed under the Child Dental Benefits Schedule — the current cap is a little over $1,100 across two calendar years (as at 2026). We'll check eligibility before the visit.

Nine years between visits and I was braced for a telling-off. Instead I got a plan: three visits, priced up front, worst thing first. The scale and clean genuinely didn't hurt — I checked my knuckles afterwards and they were still pink.
Both kids came under CDBS and were bulk-billed exactly as promised on the phone — no creative extras. The hygienist let my six-year-old “drive” the suction. He now asks when he can go back, which is frankly unsettling.
Chipped my front tooth at five-a-side eight days before my wedding. Repaired in one visit for the quoted price, whitened the week after. You cannot find the join in any of the photos, and my wife has looked.

What does the $199 checkup actually include?
Everything a first visit should: a full examination of every tooth and your gums, an ultrasonic scale & polish, and two bitewing x-rays if they're due. It's usually $290. If we find anything, you get a written, itemised quote — no treatment happens on the day unless you ask for it.
I haven't been for years. Will I get a lecture?
No. Roughly half our new patients open with "it's been a while". You'll get a plan, not a sermon: what needs doing now, what can wait, and what each step costs. Guilt has never cleaned a single tooth.
Does getting a filling hurt?
Honest answer: the anaesthetic is about ten seconds of pressure, and after that you should feel nothing. We test the tooth is properly numb before any drilling starts, and if you raise a hand, we stop — every time, no questions.
How do health funds and HICAPS work here?
Bring your card; we swipe it through HICAPS at reception and your fund pays its share on the spot — you only pay the gap. The $199 new-patient checkup is gap-free for most extras policies. We'll give you the item numbers for any quoted treatment so you can check your exact cover with your fund first.
Why do prices vary so much between quotes?
Because teeth vary. A filling runs $190–$380 depending on how many surfaces are involved; a root canal runs $950–$1,700 depending on how many canals the tooth has. Any quote given without an x-ray is a guess — ours are written after we've actually looked.
Do you offer payment plans?
For larger treatment plans, yes — we can stage treatment across visits so costs spread naturally, and we'll arrange terms before anything starts. Ask us before the bill, not after: it's a normal conversation here, not an awkward one.
