Kestrel Aerial Mapping · Canning Vale

Drone survey and aerial mapping across Perth — orthomosaics, contours to AHD, 3D models and roof inspections, flown and delivered in days.

Builders, civil contractors, strata managers and councils get the whole site in one flight — a georeferenced ortho, contours, a 3D model or every roof tagged — priced by the hectare before we leave the hangar.

Extras

How the flight is priced: each mapping deliverable is a base fee plus a rate that multiplies the hectares; high detail and ground control are flat; an inspection is $550 for the first structure and $250 for each extra one, with detail and ground control built in. Metro Perth travel is included in every figure; a site beyond the metro adds travel, quoted by the kilometre. CASA airspace approvals are arranged by us at no charge and can add days.

    Services

Everything a site gives up from the air

Priced by the hectare, GST inclusive, metro Perth travel included. The floors below are the Site Mapper's cheapest outputs — a 1 ha site, standard detail, no ground control; an inspection of one structure.

    Orthomosaic mapsfrom $940

A georeferenced, stitched aerial of the whole site at 3 cm per pixel — $900 plus $40 a hectare. Delivered as GeoTIFF and a web-tile link your team can open without GIS.

    DSM & contour surveysfrom $1,260

The ortho plus a digital surface model and contours at your interval — $1,200 plus $60 a hectare. Add ground control and the contours land on AHD.

    3D reality modelsfrom $1,580

Textured mesh and point cloud from nadir and oblique passes — $1,500 plus $80 a hectare. For design review, progress claims and community consultation.

    Roof & asset inspectionsfrom $550

$550 for the first structure, $250 for each extra — high-resolution obliques and an orbit of every roof, tank, tower or facade, defects tagged on a sheet.

    Ground control to AHD+$350

Survey-grade control points laid and observed on RTK, tied to AHD — centimetres, not tens of centimetres. Engineers and councils usually want it.

    High detail · 1.5 cm GSD+$300

Half the flying height and tighter passes — for pavement cracking, kerb lines, rebar layouts and stockpile toes. Flat, on any mapping deliverable.

Stockpile volumesincluded with any DSM survey

Cut-and-fill and stockpile volumes to the cubic metre, base surface defined, reported with the DSM — no extra line on the estimate.

    Progress-flight subscriptionsmonthly

The same flight plan and the same control every month — a time series your claims team can scrub through. Priced per flight at the mapping rates; see the FAQ.

Beyond the metro? Regional sites carry the same rates plus travel, quoted by the kilometre — the Site Mapper's beyond-metro toggle shows the priced part with the travel declared beside it.

People who've put our ortho on the wall

    ★★★★★
Monthly progress flights over the Forrestdale earthworks — the ortho lands in the shared folder three days after each flight, same plan every time, and the stockpile volumes matched our surveyor's to within a truckload.
    Liam K. · Forrestdale · civil contractor
    ★★★★★
Contours to AHD across the whole Baldivis estate with ground control on RTK, delivered in the formats our engineers use — they dropped it straight into 12d without a question.
    Priya S. · Baldivis · estate developer
    ★★★★★
Six roofs across the Welshpool complex inspected in one morning — obliques of every gutter and flashing, tagged by building, and a sheet of defects on my desk before lunch.

    Where we fly

Canning Vale out, metro Perth included — the regions by the kilometre

Most flights are within forty minutes of the hangar: the industrial belt from Welshpool to Forrestdale, the estates south to Baldivis and Rockingham, north to Wangara and Joondalup, up the hill to Midland and Mundaring. Regional sites — mines, shires, farms — carry travel by the kilometre.

    Book a flight

Tell us the site and we'll plan the flight

The Site Mapper's scenario comes across with the form. We check the airspace, confirm the flight window by phone, and send the flight plan and the estimate before anything leaves the ground.

We'd call you back within one business day with a flight window — or ring (08) 9000 0368 now if the claim is due Friday.

Tell us who to ask for.

A number we can ring back — digits, spaces and + only.

Where's the site? Suburb or town is enough.

Pick the closest sector — it sets who we send the deliverables to.

No account, no deposit — we ring to confirm.

    Questions from the site office

What people ask before the first flight

What accuracy do I actually get?
With ground control: centimetres — typically 2–3 cm horizontal and 3–5 cm vertical, tied to AHD, which is what engineers and councils design against. Without ground control the model is relative: internally consistent to tens of centimetres and fine for a visual ortho or a progress picture, but not for design levels. The Site Mapper says which one you're buying.
Can you fly near the airport?
Yes, with CASA approvals — much of the metro sits under Perth or Jandakot controlled airspace, and we hold the operator's certificate and the approvals process that goes with it. We lodge and manage it at no charge; it can add days to the flight window, so tell us early if the site is under a flight path.
How big a site can you map?
Up to 50 hectares priced online — the Site Mapper stops there because past it the plan needs a look at the boundary, the access and the airspace before we can put an honest number on it. Bigger sites, corridors and multi-site programs: send the boundary and we price them by the hectare after that look.
    Do you fly regional?
Yes — mines, shires, farms and wind-farm pads, anywhere in WA. The mapping rates stay the same; travel is added and quoted by the kilometre from Canning Vale, with accommodation at cost where the job needs a night away. Flick the beyond-metro toggle on the Site Mapper to see how the estimate is declared.
What do I get at the end?
Whatever your engineer actually uses: GeoTIFF orthos and web tiles, DSM and DTM rasters, contours as DXF, DWG or SHP, point clouds as LAS, meshes as OBJ or 3D tiles, and a PDF report with volumes and the control-point sheet. Inspections come as tagged oblique sets and orbit video with a defects sheet per structure.
    How do progress-flight subscriptions work?
We fly the same plan, at the same detail, with the same ground control, every month — so each month's ortho and volumes line up with the last. Each flight is priced at the mapping rates for the site; the control points are laid once and re-observed each visit. Your claims team gets a time series they can scrub through instead of a folder of photos.
