From the pad

Word gets around
the south-east

Pad went down Tuesday, passed compaction first test Thursday. The geotech certificate was arranged before I'd thought to ask for it.
— Sean R. · Owner-builder, Southern River
I book the combo one Friday a month. Same operator every time, and the invoice matches the phone quote to the dollar.
— Mel T. · Landscaper, Canning Vale
Pool dig started 7am, sand was gone by 2. Tip fees were on the invoice at cost, itemised — exactly what they said on the phone.
— The Harmers · Thornlie

Reviews are demonstration copy — this is a fictional business. A live build would carry your real review feed.

If your block is inside the ring, the float's included. Past Byford or out toward Serpentine we still come — the float's quoted separately and printed on the quote, not discovered on the invoice.

Straight answers

What people ask
before they book

Do you do wet hire or dry hire?

Wet only — our machines come with our operators, fuel included. It's an insurance line we won't cross: the operator's competencies and our $20M liability travel with the machine, and that only works if we're the ones in the seat.

Why is there a 3-hour minimum?

Floating a machine to your block, setting up and getting it home again is real work that happens whether the dig takes one hour or six. Three hours is the smallest honest job — that's the $420 minimum call on the mini, and it's stated on every quote, never discovered on the invoice.

Can you get through my gate?

The 1.8t mini runs 990 mm tracks and fits through a 1.1 m opening. Measure the narrowest point of the run — gate, side path, air-con unit — and we'll ask you for it on the phone. If the mini's the only fit, the job takes more hours with a smaller bucket, and the estimator above shows you that honestly before we quote.

Who deals with underground services?

We do. We lodge the Dial Before You Dig referral (call 1100 or byda.com.au — it's free) before every job, and we don't put a bucket in the ground until the plans are back. If your block has unmarked private services, we locate before we dig.

What happens to the spoil?

Carted off in our tipper and weighed over the tip bridge. Tip and disposal fees vary by facility and by what's in the ground — they're passed through at cost and itemised on the invoice, never marked up. Clean sand can sometimes be sold on; if yours is, we say so and it comes off the bill.

Do you level pads for granny flats?

Yes — pad prep and compaction to your builder's spec, levelled to string. If the builder needs a compaction certificate we arrange the geotech testing at cost, and we hold the pad until it passes.
