Coogee · frying since 2014
Fried to order, Coogee.
Fourteen minutes.
Hake, snapper and barramundi, out of the fryer when you get here. Know the total and the wait before you ring.
Frying since 2014 · 4pm to 8:30pm, Tuesday to Sunday · from $18.50 for two
Order here and you pay our price. We don’t add a delivery-app margin to it.
Two things worth knowing first
- Hake feeds four for $13.20 less than snapper. Four pieces with large chips is $34.00 on hake and $47.20 on snapper. If you’re feeding kids, take the hake — it’s the fish most of the shop eats.
- Grilled costs exactly the same as fried. Every fish, every size, every order. Nobody charges less for grilled, and nobody tells you it’s the same price either. Switch it on the card and watch the total sit still.
Build your order
Most shops make you ring to find out what a family feed costs. Build it here, then ring.
Pickup at the Coogee shop. Pay at the counter, card or cash.
Grilled is priced exactly the same as fried — every fish, every size, every order on this card. Nobody charges less for it, and nobody tells you it’s the same price either.
Four eating, four pieces of hake, fried, with large chips. $34.00, ready in about 14 minutes.
Send this order for pickupHow it works
Three steps and a timer
Nothing is cooked until your order is on the board. That’s the whole reason for the wait, and the whole reason it’s worth waiting.
Build it, then ring
Use the card above so you know the total before you pick up the phone. Or send it from this page and we’ll have it written up when you call.
It hits the fryer when you order
Twelve minutes for two pieces, one more for every extra piece, four more if you’ve added the pack. That’s the number on the card, not a guess.
Wrapped, salted, out the door
Chips salted after you order, not before. Paper, not a foil tray — it keeps the batter crisp on the drive to Munster.
We’re not on the delivery apps
No drivers, no third-party menu, no separate set of prices. An app order costs a shop a margin on every dollar and the only way to carry that is to put it back into the menu — including for the people standing at the counter. We’re not going to publish a percentage for somebody else’s business, so here is ours instead: the price on this page is the price at the till, and there is no surcharge on a card under $50.

What people say at the counter
Written for this demonstration page. Bluebone is a fictional shop and so are the people quoted.
-
“Rang at ten past five on a Friday, walked in at twenty-five past, walked out with it. The chips were still too hot to eat in the car, which is the point.”
Marisa T. Spearwood · Friday pickup -
“Asked for grilled expecting to be stung for it. Same price as the battered. First shop that’s ever told me that up front.”
Dev P. Beeliar · grilled barramundi -
“Four of us for thirty-four dollars and nobody went hungry. The board tells you what the fish is, which sounds obvious until you go somewhere that doesn’t.”
Kath L. Munster · family feed

We’re a shop, not a fleet — everything above is a drive, not a delivery run. The furthest regulars come from Success and Bibra Lake, and they ring first so the fish goes in as they leave.
Parking is on the side street, and there are two bays out the front that turn over quickly between five and half past six.

Questions
What people ring and ask
What fish is it today, and is it named?
Named, always. Hake is on every day and it’s what most of the shop eats. Barramundi and snapper go up on the board when we have them, under their own names. If a species isn’t on the board it isn’t in the fryer — you won’t get “fish of the day” from us.
Fresh or frozen?
Both, and we’ll tell you which when you ring. Some of what we sell comes in frozen at sea and is thawed here, which is normal for this trade and nothing to hide. Ask on the day and you’ll get a straight answer about the piece you’re buying.
Can I get it grilled? Does it cost more?
Yes, and no. Grilled comes off the flat top with lemon instead of out of the fryer, and it’s the same price — every fish, every size, every order. Drive the order card above and watch the total sit still when you switch between them.
Do you do gluten free?
The batter is a standard wheat batter and the fryers are shared, so we can’t call anything gluten free. Grilled fish doesn’t go near the batter, but the flat top and the utensils are in the same kitchen. Ring and tell us what you need and we’ll tell you honestly what we can and can’t keep separate.
Do you deliver?
No. We don’t run drivers and we’re not on the delivery apps. An app order costs the shop a margin on every dollar, and the only way to carry that is to put it back into the menu for everyone — including the people standing at the counter. We’re not going to publish a percentage for somebody else’s business, so here’s ours instead: order on this page or on the phone and you pay the price you can see.
Can I order now for later?
Yes — pick a pickup time on the order form and we’ll drop it in the fryer to land on that time. Anything more than about an hour ahead, ring it through as well so it goes on the board with a time against it.
Big orders, footy nights and school holidays?
Anything over about ten pieces, give us half an hour’s notice and we’ll stage it so nothing sits. Friday between six and seven is the busiest hour of the week and the wait on the card can stretch; ring and we’ll give you a real time rather than a hopeful one.
What do you take, and is there a surcharge?
Card or cash at the counter. No card surcharge under $50, no booking fee, no minimum order. The number on the order card is the number on the receipt.

Your order card is already written into the box — change anything you like before you send it. We’ll have it on the board with your name and your time against it.

From $18.50 · twelve minutes for two pieces · pickup at the Coogee shop
That’s on the board.
We’d have this ready for you at 6:15pm at the Coogee shop.
This is a demonstration page, so nothing was sent anywhere — the docket above is drawn in your browser. On the real shop’s site this lands on the kitchen printer and in the till.
