Gas heaters serviced, Bayswater to Ballajura
Two years, or every year once it’s past ten. Tell us three things and we’ll tell you whether yours is due, what the visit costs — or that it isn’t due yet.
Gas fitter licence GF000000●Price on the page, held at the door●Service sticker on every appliance
“Your heater should be serviced as often as is outlined the manufacturer’s instructions or at least every two years by a licensed gas fitter. If the appliance is more than 10 years old, it should be serviced annually.”
What a visit costs
The same prices on the phone as on this page. One call-out covers every gas appliance in the house, so the second one costs less than the first.

How a service visit runs
About an hour for a heater, a little longer with the cooktop and hot water on the same visit.
Three answers, one price
How many gas appliances, how old the oldest is, when it was last done. That gives the interval and the price above — the one we charge.
A morning or an afternoon
We ring back inside one working day with a two-hour window, and text when we’re on the way from Morley.
Burner, flame, flue, fittings
Gas off, burner and pilot cleaned, flame picture checked on relight, flue and room ventilation looked at, every connection leak-tested before we pack up.
The date, on the appliance
The Building and Energy page says The service details will be found on a sticker on the heater.
Ours carries the date, what was done and when it’s next due.
Before any booking
Smell gas, or feel unwell with the heater on?
Don’t wait for a service window. These are Building and Energy’s steps, word for word. Once everyone is outside, ring us.
“If you suspect a leak, turn the heater off straight away, open windows and doors to let in fresh air and leave the house immediately.”
“Do not use your heater again until you have had it checked by a licensed gas fitter.”
From the first cold night

“Turned the heater on in May and the flame looked lazy. The sticker said it hadn’t been touched since we moved in. They did the heater and the cooktop in one go and it was $284, same as the website.”
Karen M.Dianella · heater and cooktop
“I look after eleven rentals and half of them had no sticker at all. They booked them in by suburb over two weeks and sent me a note for each property the same afternoon.”
Tom R.Property manager · Maylands · rental checks
“Rang to book and was told our six-year-old heater was done last winter, so it wasn’t due for another year. Put it in the calendar. Rang them again when it was.”

What people ask before they book
Where Building and Energy has already answered, we quote their page and link it.
How often should a gas heater be serviced?
In Building and Energy’s words: Your heater should be serviced as often as is outlined the manufacturer’s instructions or at least every two years by a licensed gas fitter. If the appliance is more than 10 years old, it should be serviced annually.
So a heater that is exactly ten is still on two years; at eleven it moves to every year. If your manufacturer’s instructions ask for more often, follow those. Read it on wa.gov.au.
What does a service actually involve?
We turn the gas off at the appliance, take the front off, and clean the burner, pilot and ignition. With it relit we check the flame picture — a clean burn is blue and steady — and the gas pressure, look at the flue and the room’s ventilation, and leak-test every connection we touched.
Then the sticker: date, what was done, when it’s next due. If something means it shouldn’t be used, you hear it from us before we leave, and we leave it off.
The case of my heater has gone discoloured. Is that a problem?
Building and Energy lists it as a reason to book, whatever the date on the sticker. Their page says you should also have it serviced if:
The outer case of your heater is discoloured. This is an indication of a fault.
You have difficulty re-lighting the gas heater.
Your heater has a yellow flame.
A yellow, lazy flame usually means the gas isn’t burning cleanly. Book fault-finding rather than a routine service, and tell us what you’ve seen.
I rent. Who books the service?
Check your lease and ask your property manager — that’s where the answer for your home lives, and we won’t guess it from here.
Whoever books, the visit is the same and the written note goes to them. If you’re a property manager with a list, send the addresses and we’ll group them by suburb.
Do you service cooktops and gas hot water too?
Yes — cooktops and ovens, gas storage and continuous-flow hot water, space heaters, wall furnaces and ducted gas heating. The price is per appliance: $189 for the first at the visit, $95 for each extra, whichever order we do them in.
What is the sticker for?
It’s the appliance’s service record, kept where the next person will look. Building and Energy’s page says The service details will be found on a sticker on the heater.
If yours has no sticker, or it’s unreadable, pick “Never, or not sure” in the checker. With nothing to count from, it counts as due.
Book a service
Five questions. We ring back inside one working day to lock in a two-hour window.
Got it — we’ll ring you back
This is a demonstration page, so nothing was sent anywhere — your details stayed in this browser. On the real site this booking would land in the gas fitter’s job system with the checker’s answer attached.
Rather just ring?
Have a look at the sticker first if there is one. The date on it, and roughly how old the appliance is, answers most of what we’d ask.
