Word from the floor

The work speaks. So do the clients.

★★★★★

"Our vendor onboarding usually scares small shops off. Garratt's had the insurances, the weld tickets and the SWMS back to us in a day, and 340 brackets on site in Kalgoorlie a week early. They quote a date and mean it."

— Procurement lead, mining services contractor

★★★★★

"Shopfit deadline moved up ten days and I rang them in a mild panic. They re-nested the counters that afternoon, folded Thursday, and I had powder-coated panels the next Friday. Saved the handover."

— Shopfitter, Perth CBD projects

★★★★★

"We're a two-person product startup doing a 40-unit run. The $180 minimum meant our prototypes weren't treated as a nuisance — third generation walked us through the DXF fixes himself and the folds came back dead on."

— Founder, consumer hardware startup

Straight answers

What people ask before they send the drawing.

What file do you quote from?
DXF is best — it goes straight into nesting and your price comes back exact. A dimensioned PDF is fine. A photo of a sketch on a bench is a conversation — bring it in, that's how half our regulars started.
What's the minimum job?
$180 for a cutting run. It covers setup and nesting, not a margin on small work — it's precisely so one-off and prototype jobs are welcome instead of a nuisance. Folding-only runs have a $120 minimum for the same reason.
What tolerances do you hold?
±0.2 mm on laser-cut profiles across the bed. Folded dimensions depend on material and tooling — typically ±0.5 mm per bend, and we'll flag any stack-up on multi-bend parts before we cut, not after.
Do you do one-offs and prototypes?
Yes — that's exactly what the minimum run is for. Plenty of our production work started as one bracket and a sketch. Prototype feedback (what to change so it folds cleaner or nests cheaper) is part of the job.
What are your lead times?
Honestly, by process: cut-only runs 3–5 working days, cut-and-fold 5–7, welded assemblies 2–3 weeks. Every quote carries a confirmed date — and if we're going to miss it, you'll hear it from us first, not the courier.
Do you install on site?
No — we fabricate. Site installation goes to partner riggers and installers we've worked with for years, and we'll hand over drawings and a contact rather than pretend it's our trade.
