The work

Services off the hardstand

Honest rates, itemised invoices, genuine parts. If a job needs an inspection before a number, we say so — nothing here is priced off a guess.

Antifouling

from $85/ft

Trailer boats from $85/ft on your trailer; monos from $95/ft hauled at the yard; catamarans quoted +60%. Wash, sand, prime where needed, two coats rolled to the waterline.

Outboard servicing

from $440

100-hour service, single outboard to 150hp. Plugs, gear oil, impeller inspection, genuine filters — every item on the invoice. Mobile servicing available at your place.

Inboard & shaft-drive servicing

from $590

100-hour shaft-drive diesel service: oil and filters, anodes checked, stern gland inspected, cooling system flushed. Larger and twin installations quoted per engine.

Pre-purchase inspections

$30/ft · written report

We work for the buyer — hull, deck, drivetrain and moisture readings, in writing. If it's a bad boat we'll say so before you do.

Prop & shaft work

quoted after inspection

Prop pulls, shaft alignment, cutlass bearings and seals. We measure first and quote from what we find — shaft work priced off a webpage is a shaft job done twice.

Gelcoat & osmosis repairs

quoted after moisture readings

Blister and gelcoat repairs quoted after moisture readings, never off a photo. We'll tell you honestly whether it's cosmetic or structural.

What owners say

Hauled Tuesday, antifouled, back on the pen Friday. They photographed every stage of the hull — I paid for exactly what I saw, to the dollar of the quote.

The 90 started first turn all summer. The service list was itemised down to the impeller, and they came to our driveway in Coogee to do it.
Trailer-boat family · outboard service, Coogee — demo copy
Their inspection report killed the deal — moisture readings right through the transom. The best $900 I've spent was on the boat I didn't buy.

Straight answers

Questions we get on the jetty

How often should I antifoul?

In the Swan, every 12–18 months. River pens foul faster through the warm months, so check the hull at 12 — if it's slimed to the boot top, don't wait for the calendar. Boats kept on a trailer can usually stretch further.

How long does slipping take?

Two to four days for a standard haul-out and antifoul, weather honest — antifoul needs dry cure windows, and a winter front can add a day. We give you a return-to-water date when we lift, and we ring if it moves.

Do you service outboards on the trailer at my place?

Yes — mobile outboard servicing runs Fremantle to Rockingham, same $440 starting rate for a single to 150hp. Outside that corridor we quote travel honestly by the kilometre before we book anything.

What antifoul paint do you use?

Plain language: hard antifoul suits boats that move often or get raced — it takes scrubbing and speed. Ablative self-polishes as you motor, better for moored cruisers that sit between runs. We recommend one for how you use the boat and put the product name on the quote.

Can I stay on the boat on the hardstand?

No — our insurance doesn't allow overnight stays on stands, and honestly you wouldn't want to: no through-hull water and a long ladder in the dark. Daytime access to work on your own boat can be arranged.

Do you do insurance surveys?

Insurance surveys need an accredited marine surveyor, which we're not — we'll refer you to one and we can slip the boat for their inspection. What we do is pre-purchase condition inspections at $30/ft with a written report, working for the buyer.
