Pick an instrument, a lesson length and private or group for each student — the stave draws your term and prices it. Two or more students earns the family discount: 10% off every enrolment's tuition except the dearest.

Five instruments, one patient method
Every term is ten weekly lessons at the Applecross studio. Prices are per term, per student — what the planner says is what the invoice says.
Group beginners, 30 min
$280 a term (max 4)
Piano or guitar in a group of no more than four. The gentlest way to find out whether it's love — most graduates move to privates by term three.
45 min AMEB-prep privates
$580 a term
Repertoire, aural work and exam craft folded into the weekly lesson. Exam prep is included — recitals are compulsory, exams never are.
60 min senior & diploma privates
$740 a term
For advanced students and adults chasing a program: technique, theory and performance in one unhurried hour a week.
Take-home instrument hire
+$60 a term
Guitars and violins, sized to the student and swapped as they grow. Pianists practise here on practice-room cards; drummers use the studio kit.

String ensemble, rock band lab and written theory run as afternoon blocks. The timetable moves with enrolments, so the sheet is the source of truth.

What ten weeks sounds like
Our seven-year-old now announces her own recital pieces at dinner. Ten weeks in she played Ode to Joy with both hands and took a bow at the fridge.
Two brothers, guitar and drums, and for the first time in living memory they practise without being asked. The family discount didn't hurt either.
I finally learned the instrument I'd circled for thirty years, and played Happy Birthday at Mum's eightieth. Worth every Tuesday night.

The studio sits in Applecross, minutes off Canning Highway — an easy run from the riverside suburbs, and parents tell us the waiting-room coffee makes the drive worth it from further out. Lessons are at the studio; metro-wide families are welcome by arrangement.

Questions parents actually ask
What age can a child start?
Five to six is the sweet spot for piano — the hands are ready and so, mostly, is the attention span. Group beginners takes them a touch earlier because the room does half the work. Adults: any decade you like; our oldest first-timer started at 71.
Do parents sit in on lessons?
First lesson, yes — we want you to see how your teacher works. After that the waiting room has coffee and the good biscuits, and you'll hear everything that matters at the term recital.
What happens if we miss a lesson?
One make-up lesson a term, rebooked into the same week where we can manage it. Beyond that the spot is held but the lesson lapses — the timetable is a small machine and every cog is a family.
Do we need our own instrument?
Not to start. Take-home hire covers guitars and violins at $60 a term, sized to the student. Piano students practise here on practice-room cards, and drummers use the studio kit — your neighbours said thanks.
Are exams compulsory?
No — recitals are. AMEB preparation is included in 45 and 60 minute privates for students chasing the certificate, but the term recital at the Applecross hall is the exam everyone sits, nerves optional.
