If the funding is NDIS
Most of the children and adults we see are NDIS participants. Here is the mechanism, in full, with no numbers we would have to keep chasing.
We name the support item before we book anything. You get it in writing — which item the work sits under, the amount, and how many sessions the agreement covers — and nothing goes ahead until you have said yes to it.
NDIS-funded work is billed to the participant’s plan for that item, not to you at the counter. Self-managed and plan-managed participants are welcome — self-managed, we invoice you and you claim it; plan-managed, we invoice your plan manager and copy you in.
This page publishes no scheme figures. No price limits, no item numbers, no travel or cancellation rules, no loadings. Those move, and a website that quotes them goes stale and misleads someone. Ring us, or read your own plan, and we will walk through it with you line by line.

How long is the wait?
Short, and we publish it. Our opening pattern puts a clinic assessment inside two working days at worst, a home visit inside three, and a school visit inside four — on any day of the year, not just today. The strip near the top of this page draws the next twenty working days for whichever setting you pick.
It is a published roster rather than a live diary, so treat it as the shape of our week. Ring and we will confirm the actual slot while you are on the phone.
Do you come to school?
Yes, with the school’s agreement and yours. A school visit means watching a child in the room they are struggling in, then ten minutes with the teacher afterwards — which is usually worth more than the assessment itself.
Travel is from $45 on top of the session. We ask you to let the school know we are coming; if that is awkward, we will make the call ourselves.
What does an assessment actually involve?
Ninety minutes. Some of it is standardised — scored tasks with a pencil, blocks, balance, hand strength. Some of it is play, because a six-year-old shows you more in fifteen minutes on the floor than in an hour at a desk. And some of it is you talking while your child gets on with something.
For an adult home assessment it is the reverse: we walk the house with you. Doorways, the step at the back, the shower, how you get out of the chair you actually sit in.
Will my child know they are being tested?
They will know they are doing activities with a new grown-up, and we tell them the truth in their own language: we are working out which bits are tricky so school gets easier. We do not use the word test, we do not read scores out in front of them, and we stop when they are done rather than when the form is done.
What do I bring?
Any report you already have — school, paediatrician, speech, psych — and a list of the three things that make your week hardest. Nothing else. If your child has a pencil grip, a chewy or a favourite fidget, bring that too.
For a home assessment, bring nobody: it is better if the day looks normal.
