Musculoskeletal & sports physiotherapy · Applecross

Physio that starts with a plan, not a lecture.

The two-minute triage

Where does it hurt?

Tap a region. We'll tell you what it usually is in plain language, what your first session involves, and exactly what it costs. No mystery, no upsell.

Six regions, front and back — same honest answer either way.

Shoulder

Shoulder pain that won't let you reach

It's usually one of these

  • Rotator cuff-related pain — the tendons that steer the shoulder, irritated by load they weren't ready for.

Your first session

We test which movements provoke it and which calm it…

Typical course: 4–6 sessions.

Initial consult $135 · 45 min Follow-up $98 · 30 min

This is general information, not a diagnosis. Your assessment is where the real answer comes from.

Services & fees

What it costs, before you're on the table

Every fee on this page is the whole fee. HICAPS claims processed on the spot — you pay the gap and go.

Initial assessment

$135 · 45 min

History, movement screen, hands-on treatment and your plan. You leave with exercises and an honest session count — not a brochure.

Follow-up consult

$98 · 30 min

Progress check against the plan, treatment, and adjustments based on how you actually responded — not how the textbook says you should.

Sports & running assessment

$160 · 60 min

Treadmill video gait review, strength benchmarks, and a return-to-run plan with actual dates on it.

Post-op rehab plans

Staged · billed as standard consults

Knee reconstructions, shoulder repairs, hip replacements — a staged program mapped to your surgeon's protocol, with testing gates before each phase.

Dry needling

+$25 · add-on to any consult

Added when it's the right tool for stubborn muscle tension — never the whole treatment, always optional.

NDIS & DVA welcome

Funded · plan & self-managed

NDIS plan-managed and self-managed participants, and DVA White and Gold Card holders with a GP referral.

Medicare EPC honesty: a referred EPC session attracts a $60.35 rebate — a gap applies on our standard fees.

Word around the river

People leave with plans. Then they finish them.

“Six months of achilles pain that two rest blocks didn't fix. Cadence had me strength-loading in week one and back at parkrun in ten. The plan was on paper before I left the first session.”
Mel R. Runner · Ardross
“Woke up with a neck that wouldn't turn left. They fitted me in the same morning and I could check my blind spot by Thursday. Three sessions and a desk setup fix — no twelve-visit ‘program’.”
Daniel K. Office worker · Como
“ACL reconstruction in March. My surgeon's protocol was taped inside my rehab folder and every session was tracked against it. Passed my nine-month strength testing last week.”
Priya S. Post-op rehab · Mount Pleasant

Straight answers

Things people ask before they book

Do I need a GP referral?

No — you can book directly with a physio in WA. You only need a referral for Medicare EPC sessions, DVA treatment, or workers' compensation claims. If you have one, bring it; if not, just come.

What should I wear or bring?

Clothes you can move in — shorts if it's a hip, knee or achilles, a singlet if it's a shoulder. Bring any scans, reports or referral letters you have. Don't worry if you have nothing; most people don't.

How many sessions will I need?

Honestly: usually 3–6 for most soft-tissue problems. Post-op rehab and long-standing tendon issues run longer. We give you an expected count at your first session and revise it openly — you'll never discover a “program” you didn't agree to.

Can I claim private health on the spot?

Yes — we have a HICAPS terminal, so your extras claim is processed at reception and you only pay the gap. The gap depends on your fund and level of cover; most extras policies cover physiotherapy.

Is dry needling painful?

Less than people expect. The needles are hair-fine — nothing like an injection. You may feel a brief deep ache, like a dull cramp, for a few seconds when the needle finds the tight spot. It's always optional and never the whole treatment.
