What owners say

Brick homes that stopped looking their age

★★★★★

“Double-brick 1994 place in Dianella, acrylic texture in a warm grey. Listed the week after the scaffold came down and it sold in nine days. The agent said the render photos did the work.”

Priya M. — Dianella
★★★★★

“Just the front elevation before the auction photos. Measured Monday, rendered and painted by Thursday, photographer Friday. Nobody would guess the sides are still brick.”

Glenn & Sue T. — Carine
★★★★★

“Our 1990s render had cracked right down the north wall. They raked it out, meshed it, patched it and re-coated the whole side. I've stood there looking for the join. Can't find it.”

Questions we get on the driveway

Straight answers on render

Cement render or acrylic texture — which one?
Cement render is cheaper per metre and gives you the classic smooth, floated look — but it's rigid, so we control-joint it, and it needs paint (ours or your painter's). Acrylic texture costs more, but it flexes with the wall as the bricks move through summer, carries the colour through the coat, and never needs painting. If you're selling, cement plus a topcoat is the value play; if you're staying twenty years, the texture system usually costs less over the life of the wall.
How long does it take?
A single-storey full exterior takes four to six working days, weather permitting — render doesn't like a 40°C easterly or a wet week. A front elevation is usually two to three days including paint. Double-storey adds a day for the scaffold each end. We'll give you the dates at the site measure.
Can you render over painted brick?
Yes — with a bonding agent or a keyed base coat first, depending on what's on the wall and how well it's stuck. Painted brick and old texture coats are quoted on inspection, because the prep is the job.
Will the render crack?
Hairlines can appear anywhere a brick wall moves, which is why we cut control joints at the same lines the brickie did, mesh over lintels and openings, and cure the render properly. Structural movement is the wall's business, not the render's — but our 7-year workmanship warranty (10 on texture systems) covers our work: drummy render, delamination and cracks that come from application, not from the house.
Do I need to move out?
No. We work outside, keep the power on and the doors clear, and mask windows and paths. There's a bit of noise from the mixer and a couple of days of scaffold on a double-storey. The dog might prefer to visit the neighbours.
