Licensed high-risk work
Above four metres, scaffolding is licensed high-risk work in WA. Our crews carry SB-class high-risk work licences — card numbers printed on your handover doc.
Inspected every 30 days
Hired scaffold gets a documented inspection every 30 days and after any storm. The tag on the standard tells you when we last looked — read it any time.
Ties, honestly
A two-storey wrap gets drilled wall ties — small patched holes are part of the deal, and we say so before we build. An untied wrap in a Perth southerly isn’t a scaffold, it’s a sail.
Wind rules, honestly
Over 63 km/h forecast we don’t hand over. The Fremantle Doctor is real and so is our anemometer — a delayed handover beats a bent frame.
Engineered where it counts
Standard configurations are pre-engineered. Cantilevers, hoardings and anything over 9 m get their own drawings — quoted on the measure, never guessed.

How much does scaffolding cost?
Fixed scaffold runs $75/m² of scaffold face — that’s length × height, covering erect, dismantle and the first 4 weeks’ hire, with a $1,200 minimum job. A typical two-storey face of 12 m × 6 m is 72 m² — $5,400. What moves the number: access (can the truck park at the face?), ground conditions, ties, and anything needing its own engineering. The planner above does the honest arithmetic; the site measure confirms it.
How long can I keep it?
The first 4 weeks are included in the erect price. After that, fixed scaffold is $8/m²/week and roof edge protection $5/lm/week — the 72 m² face above runs $576/week from week 5. No re-erect fees, no surprises: the extension meter is printed on your quote from day one.
Do I need engineering?
Sometimes, honestly. Standard configurations — faces to 9 m, standard bays, standard loads — are pre-engineered. Cantilevers, hoardings, loading bays and anything over 9 m get their own drawings, quoted on the measure. If your job needs drawings, we say so at the measure, not mid-build.
Can my handyman build it?
Under 4 m platform height — yes, legally, with the manual and the right components. Over 4 m, erecting scaffold is SB-licence high-risk work in WA, and that’s the law, not our upsell. Our crews carry the licence; the handover certificate carries their card numbers.
What about my neighbours’ side?
A boundary wrap usually needs their yard for a day — to stand the frame, then again to drop it. We’ll door-knock with you, agree the day, and leave their side as we found it. It goes better as a knock than a note.
What happens in a storm?
Every hired scaffold gets a documented inspection after any storm, on top of the 30-day tag cycle — check the tag on the standard for the last date. And if the forecast tops 63 km/h on handover day, we wait: the frame can stand a day empty; it can’t stand being bent.
