    How a visit runs

Bench in, tags on, certificate out

    Book the counts

Rough numbers are fine — the board gives you a ballpark and we confirm once we've walked the site.

    Bench set up

One technician, one bench, near a power point. Around 30 items an hour on the bench; leads and boards go through the same tester.

    Test, tag, log

Every item gets a visual, an electrical test and a tag with the next-due date. Failures are tagged out and listed, never quietly binned.

    Certificate same day

Your test report and certificate land in your inbox the same afternoon — with the register if you took one.

    What the site supervisors say

Demo copy — written for this demonstration, not attributed to real customers.

“Sixty-odd tools, the leads and four RCDs — done between six and eight before the boys clocked on. Two grinders tagged out with frayed sheaths, which is exactly what I want to know.”

“The register made our audit a formality — the assessor scanned two QR tags, saw the dates and moved on. First time in six years that part of the day took under ten minutes.”
    Director, childcare centreSouthern River
“Our lease renewal wanted ‘tested and tagged’ evidence by Friday. Booked Tuesday, tested Thursday morning, certificate in my inbox by 2pm the same day. Landlord happy, done.”

    FAQ

The questions every office manager asks

How often does everything need testing?

AS/NZS 3760 sets the interval by environment, not by a flat rule — desk gear in an office is typically five years, kitchen and cleaning gear twelve months, workshops and childcare twelve months, construction sites three months. We tag every item with its next-due date so nobody has to remember. Treat the board's intervals as a guide; the standard has the final say.

Is it actually legal to skip it?

WHS regulations require a safe system of work rather than naming test and tag outright — but tagging to AS/NZS 3760 is how most workplaces evidence it, and it's what leases, insurers and safety auditors ask to see. A dated tag and a register close the question in a minute.

    What usually fails?

Leads and power boards, mostly — damaged plugs, frayed sheaths, boards with a burnt socket. Appliances themselves fail less often. Anything that fails is tagged out, listed on your report and left with you to repair or replace; we don't bin it.

How long will you be on site?

About 30 items an hour on the bench once it's set up, so eighty items is roughly a morning. Exit lights add their 90-minute discharge — we test other gear while they run and come back to log the result the same visit.

Do you test the fixed wiring or the switchboard?

No — fixed wiring is an electrician's job. We test what plugs in, RCDs (push-button and trip-time), emergency and exit lights, and 3-phase equipment at the plug. Microwave leakage and thermal imaging are quoted per site.
