Figures are film-spec numbers for the film at 35% VLT — darker helps glare, the ceramic does the heat. A dark dyed film is sunglasses, not insulation.
WA law: front side windows must let at least 35% of light through; behind the driver, 20%. Darker than that is a yard defect notice, so we don't fit it — the slider below 20% exists so you can see what we're saying no to.

Legal isn't a vibe here — it's a measurement. We measure VLT on the glass, not the box: factory glass already eats a few percent, and 35% means the combined reading of glass plus film. If a film would put your fronts under the floor, we'll tell you at the bay door, not at the yard.
Windscreens take a visor strip only — that's the law, and also just true about seeing at night.

We don't stock dyed film. It fades purple and bubbles by year five in a Perth carpark; carbon is our floor. SUVs and wagons run +$60 on full-car prices, utes −$40 — more glass, more film, and the card above does the arithmetic for you.

The cure is normal
The haze and tiny water beads after fitting are normal — the film cures out in 5–10 summer days, longer in winter. Don't wind the windows down for 3 days, and that's on the card we hand you.
The edge is the craft
We hand-cut shy of the seal by a millimetre — film jammed to the felt lifts. A clean, even, visible edge line IS the professional fit; ask to see one under the bay light.
Measured on the glass
Since 2017, every car leaves with a VLT reading we'd be happy to show a licensing officer. We measure combined glass-plus-film — because that's what the roadside meter reads too.

TINT QUESTIONS, STRAIGHT
Front side windows must let at least 35% of light through; windows behind the driver, 20%. Windscreens take a visor strip only. We measure the combined glass-plus-film reading on the car — factory glass already eats a few percent, so "35% film" on the box isn't automatically 35% on the glass. Anything darker than the floors is a defect notice waiting at a licensing stop, and we don't fit it.
Darkness handles glare; ceramic handles heat. Carbon rejects around 45% of total solar energy, ceramic around 60%, and ceramic IR+ around 78% — the infrared band is where a Perth summer actually lives. A dark dyed film is sunglasses, not insulation, which is why we don't stock dyed film at all.
A full car is 2–3 hours in the bay — give us the morning and take it back at lunch. A front-two match is about an hour. Flat glass depends on access and panel count; the quote visit settles it.
That's the cure, and it's normal. The mounting water evaporates through the film over 5–10 summer days (longer in winter), and the haze and tiny beads go with it. Don't wind the windows down for 3 days — it's all on the card we hand you at pickup.
That was dyed film doing what dyed film does in a Perth carpark. Carbon and ceramic are colour-stable — and the manufacturer warrants them for life against bubbling, peeling and purpling, in writing. If your current tint is already purple, removal starts at $120 and we can fit the honest replacement the same morning.
Partly — and it's an honest partly. Darkness is glare comfort; ceramic is heat. A 35% ceramic fit keeps a cabin cooler than a 20% dyed fit, every time. The heat meter in the Tint Studio above is the real story: the film's spec figures, not the shade, do the insulating.
