Straight answers
What the phone rings about.
How long does each lane take?
Metro is same-day when booked by 3pm, otherwise next morning. Bunbury, Geraldton, Albany and Kalgoorlie are all next-day: freight loaded by early evening is on the receiver's dock the following business day. Ad-hoc space on tonight's run depends on what's already booked — call and we'll tell you straight.
What's the difference between ad-hoc and contract rates?
Ad-hoc is the rate guide on this page — one-off freight, quoted per job. Contract rates apply when you commit to regular volume (say, four pallets to Geraldton every week): the per-pallet price drops, your slot is protected, and you get the same driver. If you're shipping weekly, contract is almost always cheaper.
What is the fuel levy, honestly?
Diesel is the biggest cost in freight and it moves month to month. Rather than repricing every lane constantly, the industry applies a percentage levy that tracks the terminal gate diesel price. Ours is currently around 14% and it's shown on every quote before you book — never discovered on the invoice.
Is my freight insured, and how does POD work?
We carry $20M transit insurance across the fleet. Every consignment travels on a numbered con note; the receiver signs on delivery (paper or on-glass) and the proof of delivery is emailed to you the same day. If something's ever damaged, the POD plus photos start the claim — you're never chasing paperwork.
Do you carry dangerous goods?
No. DG freight needs licensed vehicles, trained drivers and segregation rules we don't run. We'll refer you to a licensed DG carrier we trust, and if only part of your consignment is DG we'll happily carry the general freight alongside their run.
Can you deliver without a forklift on site?
Yes — most of the metro fleet and every taxi truck has a tail-lift, and drivers carry pallet jacks. Tell us in the quote request if there's no forklift at either end so we assign the right vehicle. For containers, the side-loader puts the box on the ground — no crane or dock needed.
