NAPLAN preparation
inside the group program — not a separate fee
Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 practise the format inside their normal group sessions in the lead-up. We prepare the student, we don’t sell the panic.
ATAR small groups

Max three students, one subject per group — Methods, Physics, Chemistry, English. Past papers from week one, marked the way WACE marks.

Year 9 was hiding maths tests in the bottom of his bag. Two terms in the Tuesday group and he stuck the last one on the fridge himself — 71%. He still won’t say maths is fun. He has stopped saying he’s dumb.

Group or private — what decides it?
The placement session, mostly. If the gap is a couple of missing skills and confidence, a group of four is usually right — and it’s the affordable option at $60 a session. If the gap is wide, the timeline is short (hello, year 12), or the student shuts down in front of peers, private is worth the difference.
How long before marks move?
Honestly: a term to change habits, two to change marks. Anyone promising a jump inside a month is selling you the month. The week-5 progress report tells you whether the habits are moving — that’s the early signal worth watching.
Do you follow the school’s curriculum?
We teach the WA curriculum at the school’s pace — we ask for the program outline each term so the Tuesday session lands on what Thursday’s class assumes. Tutoring that runs ahead of the classroom just builds a different confusion.
What if the tutor isn’t a fit?
We swap, no re-enrolment, no awkwardness — you tell us once and we handle it. It happens a few times a term and it’s nobody’s failing. The “same tutor all term” promise starts from the tutor that fits.
Why does learning support have no price on the page?
Because the plan comes from the assessment, not a rate card. A student with a dyslexia diagnosis might need two short sessions a week; another needs one long one with a different method entirely. We price the plan we’d actually run, after we’ve met the student.
What happens in the free placement session?
Thirty minutes, no charge, no obligation. The student works through a short diagnostic with a tutor while you tell us what the term needs to fix. You leave with a recommendation — program, sessions per week, and the term price — whether or not you enrol.
