"Steering shake at 110 on the Mitchell — gone in under an hour. Rebalanced all four, found a buckled rim I didn't know about, and showed me the chalk marks. Sixty bucks well spent."
Chalkline Tyre & Alignment · Wangara · est. 2014
Tyres fitted and aligned in Wangara — priced per corner, nothing hidden.
Read your sidewall, pick a tier, and the price you see is the price on the invoice — fitting, balancing, a new valve and disposal of the old tyre, all in. Alignment's $99 with the before/after printout to prove it. Most sets are on and out inside an hour.
205/55R16
Section width. The tread face in millimetres, sidewall to sidewall.
Profile. Sidewall height as a percentage of the width — lower profile, less rubber between rim and road.
Radial, rim inches. R is radial construction — every passenger tyre we fit. The rim diameter sets the price band.
Rendered to scale from the size arithmetic — rim inches plus twice the sidewall height. The chalk tick is the balance mark.
Three tiers, no brand games — exact brands quoted on the day from distributor stock.
Every price includes fitting, balancing, a new valve and old-tyre disposal.
Price banding by rim size — width and profile change the tyre, the band prices the rim. Exact brand pricing confirmed on quote.
TPMS sensor service is quoted by sensor type — sensors are at cost plus fitting.

Per-corner and flat rates, printed. If a job needs a different number, you'll hear it before we touch the car.
Tyres supplied & fitted from $109
Per corner — the 15″ budget band. Every fit includes balancing, a new valve and disposal of the old tyre. Step your size in the decoder above for your band.
Wheel alignment $99
Front and rear geometry checked on the laser rig, adjusted, and the before/after printout handed to you — toe figures and all.
Puncture repair $45
Off the rim, inspected inside, plug-patched from the inside per the standard — not a string plug in the car park. If it's not safe to repair, we'll show you why.
Rotate & balance $60
All four corners, flat rate. The cheapest way to make a set of tyres last the distance — every 10,000 km is the habit.
Nitrogen top-up $0
Free with any fitting, deliberately. Nitrogen holds pressure a little longer — it's a two-minute job on the machine, so we don't charge for it.
TPMS sensor service Quoted by sensor
Pressure-sensor types vary by car — sensors are at cost plus fitting, quoted before we start. We reset the system with every rotation.
Why per corner? Because "from $396 a set" hides the maths. One worn tyre is one corner's money — and when you only need two, you only pay for two. New rubber goes on the rear; we'll rotate the better pair forward.
Reviews
The chalk marks add up.
"Needed four 18s on the ute before a Pilbara run. Priced per corner over the phone, same number on the invoice, out by smoko. Nitrogen filled without asking."
"Only shop that's ever shown me the alignment printout — before and after, toe figures and all. The ute has stopped eating front tyres."

FAQ
Asked over the counter, answered straight.
How do I read my tyre size?
It's moulded into the sidewall: something like 205/55R16. The first number is the section width in millimetres, the second is the sidewall height as a percentage of that width, R means radial construction, and the last number is the rim diameter in inches. The decoder at the top of this page steps through every size we band.
There's also a load and speed rating after the size (like 91V) — we always match or better what your car's placard specifies.
Do I need four tyres, or just two?
Tyres wear in axle pairs, so two is often the honest answer. The new pair goes on the rear — whichever end drives the car. Fresh tread at the back keeps the car stable in the wet, because a rear slide is far harder to catch than a front one. We rotate your better pair forward at the same time, included in the fit.
How long does fitting take?
A set of four with balancing is usually under an hour — add about half an hour for an alignment. Wait with a coffee, or drop the car before work and grab it at lunch. If your size needs to come from the distributor, morning orders generally land by early arvo.
Are cheap tyres safe?
Every tyre we sell meets the Australian standard and is fine when new. The differences show up over the life of the tyre: budget tyres wear faster and give up wet grip earlier as the tread goes down. For a second car doing short suburban runs, budget is a rational buy. For a freeway commute or towing, the mid-range tier is usually where the value sits — and we'll say so rather than default you to the dearest column.
When do I actually need an alignment?
Whenever new rubber goes on the front, after any decent pothole or kerb strike, or if the car pulls, the wheel sits off-centre, or your tyres wear one shoulder faster than the other. It's $99 flat with the before/after printout — misalignment is the quickest way to chew out the tyres you just paid for.
