The bench work happens in the Bibra Lake workshop — jigs, powder-coat runs, anything that wants a flat floor and three-phase. The mobile rig covers the whole Perth metro: same hands, same $140/hr rate, plus the $90 callout and nothing else.
South of the river is home turf — Fremantle to Rockingham we're often same-day. North and east book a day or two out; factory breakdowns jump the queue, because a stopped line out-costs everyone's patience.

How much does custom fabrication cost?
By the metre or by the hour — nothing mystical. Balustrade runs $310/lm in powder-coated mild steel (5 lm minimum), stainless adds $120/lm, aluminium $60/lm. Gates start at $1,450 a single leaf. Repairs and one-offs bill shop time at $140/hr, two-hour minimum. The quoter at the top of the page runs the same arithmetic we quote with.
Can you come to me?
Yes — the mobile rig covers the whole Perth metro. $140/hr with a 2-hour minimum plus a $90 callout: from $370 all-in. The callout covers the rig on wheels — gas, genny and consumables; after two hours you pay only the clock. Farm and factory breakdowns jump the queue.
Do you certify structural work?
Plainly: yes. Balustrades and structural welds are built to the Building Code's loading standards and signed off, with the weld procedure and welder ticket numbers on the paperwork. If a job doesn't need certification we'll say so — and if it does, it isn't optional.
Steel, stainless or aluminium?
Mild steel powder-coated is the workhorse — strongest per dollar, any colour, but it needs its coating. Stainless shrugs off coastal air and looks it, but it's TIG work: slower, cleaner, dearer — the extra is the hand, not the metal markup. Aluminium is light and rust-proof, and fussier under the torch than it looks. We'll tell you which one the job actually wants.
How long does a gate take?
Honestly: 2–3 weeks from deposit. A few days in fabrication, then the powder-coat queue — which we don't control and won't pretend to. If a date matters (settlement, a party, a dog with opinions) tell us up front and we'll build the schedule backwards from it.
Can you match an existing design?
Send a photo — matching old work is half our week. Heritage balustrade, a second gate to twin the first, a rail extended down a new run of stairs. We'll match profile and pattern, and tell you honestly where a 40-year-old section size no longer meets code.
